Shop Honolulu

Shopping is a popular pastime in Honolulu. With its abundance of plazas, kiosks and boutiques, visitors and locals are never at a loss to find exactly what they’re looking for. Check out these shopping centers around Honolulu to find the best deals, luxury-brand items, restaurants, and live entertainment.

International Market Place

This open-air shopping center dates back to the 1950s, but renovations in recent years have updated the International Market Place into an upscale, tri-level center with trendy restaurants and mid to high-end shops. Shop Hawaii’s only Saks Fifth Avenue, which spans an impressive three stories. Other high-end options include Michael Kors and Burberry, among others. Dine at one of many diverse restaurants on the third level, dedicated to food. Eat upscale, New American cuisine at StripSteak, or enjoy fine-dining Chinese fare at Yauatcha. Looking for something different? Make sure to check out The Street Food Hall, brainchild of famous chef Michael Mina. The Street Food Hall is akin to a global food court with diverse and unique options for every diet.

Stop by and browse the aisles of Japanese supermarket Mitsuwa Marketplace – chances are you’ll find unfamiliar foodstuffs and snacks to bring home with you. See International Market Place directory.

Get there: 2230 Kalakaua Ave., Waikiki. The International Market Place is just a 10-minute walk from Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. Head north on Kalakaua Avenue half a mile until you reach the International Market Place on the right.

Luxury Row

The description is in the name. For travelers seeking items from international retailers like Tiffany & Co., Gucci, or Yves Saint Laurent, Luxury Row is the place. Located at the gateway to Waikiki, Luxury Row offers high-end brands that beckon passersby with elegant window displays. For luxury brands, most agree that the prices at Luxury Row are surprisingly better than those found on the mainland. You be the judge. For something high-end from the likes of Miu Miu or Bottega Veneta, stroll along the shops of Luxury Row. See directory.

Get there: 2100 Kalakaua Ave., Waikiki. Luxury Row is a 15-minute walk from Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel. With traffic and parking, walking will be your quickest mode of transportation. Head north on Kalakaua Avenue; Luxury Row is located one block up from the Hard Rock Café on the right. See map.

Ala Moana Center

Ala Moana is the largest outdoor mall in the world with over 350 stores, an awesome food court, live hula shows, changing art exhibits, and the list goes on. Ala Moana has something for every shopper, with retailers ranging from the Apple Store to Target, from Ross to Armani. The center caters to everyone who happens to be in Honolulu. Even if you’re not a big shopper, this is a fun place to explore. Enjoy live entertainment at the Ala Moana Centerstage, which features daily hula shows and live music in the evening. See Ala Moana Center directory.

Get there: 1450 Ala Moana Blvd., Ala Moana. Take the Waikiki Trolley from Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel via Pink Line to Ala Moana Center. Check current ride fares here.

Waikele Premium Outlets

Looking for a deal? Shop premium brands with discount prices at Waikele Outlet. Ralph Lauren, Coach, Kate Spade, Nine West and dozens more at this location have unbeatable  sales. The outdoor outlet mall has a few onsite food options, but for something new, check out the food truck fare located just outside the mall. The Waikele Outlet can get a bit hectic on the weekends, so we suggest you arrive early to beat the crowds and snag the best deals. See Waikele Premium Outlets directory.

Get there: 94 Lumiaina St., Waipahu. The only outlet mall in Oahu is located approximately 20 miles west of Waikiki. Opt for the Waikele Outlet Shopping Shuttle, which departs from several locations in Waikiki twice daily. The closest pick-up from Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel is at Hyatt Place on Waikiki Beach, just two blocks away on Paoakalani Avenue. See map.

Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel is located just steps away from Kuhio Beach in Waikiki. Its central location with views of the ocean and Diamond Head make it one of the best in the area. See our special offers.
