Guide to Hawai‘i Triennial 2022

Hawai‘i Triennial 2022 returns to Honolulu with over 43 artists and collectives exhibiting at venues across the city. This year, the largest contemporary art event in Hawai‘i is framed around the fluid concept of “Pacific Century - E Ho‘omau no Moananuiākea,” as artist exhibitions interweave themes of history, place, and identity within the context of Hawaiʻi’s unique location at the confluence of Asia-Pacific and Oceania.

For curious visitors and art lovers alike, here’s everything you need to know about HT22 (we answer some frequently asked questions too!).

When is the Hawai‘i Triennial 2022?

Now through May 8, 2022

Where is the Hawai‘i Triennial 2022?

The citywide exhibition will take place at Bishop Museum, Foster Botanical Garden, Hawai‘i Theatre Center, Hawai‘i State Art Museum, ʻIolani Palace, Honolulu Museum of Art, and Royal Hawaiian Center.

How do you get to the Hawai‘i Triennial 2022?

With the exception of Royal Hawaiian Center, the six sites of exhibition are scattered throughout downtown Honolulu (Royal Hawaiian Center is located in Waikiki, just a short walk from Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel). Most of these sites are within walking distance from one another, but you’ll need transportation to reach Bishop Museum which is located on the north side of H-1.
